I pray this message finds you in good health and steadfast faith. I encourage each of you to consider the future of our faith and the impact we can have together, as a congregation, on our community and our nation. As Christians, we have an incredible opportunity to share the message of Jesus Christ with a freedom that many around the world do not possess. Now is the time for us to act boldly and with purpose, not waiting until our values are under attack, but seizing this moment to strengthen our community in Christ.
Scripture reminds us of the urgency and importance of spreading the Gospel. In 2 Timothy 4:2, Paul charges us to “Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.” This call to be "ready in season and out of season" means we must be proactive—prepared to stand for Christ at every opportunity, not just when it’s easy or when we feel pressured. If we only react when challenges come, we may find ourselves unprepared. But by acting now, we can lay a strong foundation for the future of our faith.
Thankfully, we live in a time when our nation still holds certain values that align with God’s Word. There are leaders who support initiatives such as “In God We Trust,” which encourage us to keep God at the center of our lives and our country. We must not sit back and assume this will continue without our involvement. Jesus said in Matthew 5:14-16, “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden...Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” Our active participation as “lights” for Christ is crucial in leading our community and nation toward righteousness.
Far too often, people wait until circumstances grow dire before they act. But now, while we have the freedom and the opportunity, we need to be proactive in our faith and in sharing the message of Jesus Christ. Voting for leaders who align with our values is just one part of our responsibility. The harder part is in what comes next—working actively to bring our community closer to God. James 1:22 says, “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” It’s not enough to simply agree with what is right; we must also do what is right.
If you are troubled by the direction in which our nation seems to be heading, you now have an opportunity to be part of the solution in the name of Jesus Christ. Let us remember that 1 Corinthians 15:58 encourages us, “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” Our work—our prayers, our outreach, our service to others—is not in vain. By standing together as a congregation and as a body of believers, we can make a difference that will last.
Let us commit ourselves to praying for our leaders, for our community, and for one another. Let’s work together to strengthen the church and uphold the message of Christ, knowing that in Him, our future is secure. May we be found faithful and steadfast, actively working for His glory in all that we do.

It would be a lot easier to choose leaders with values if our communities were more godly in the first place. We would also see a lot less ungodliness if our communities chose to put God first. But, our communities will only be more godly if we are more godly AND helping others in the same. It's very much a grassroots effort. Romans 10:17 comes to mind.
